Bangladesh bowlers denied the touring batsmen a long practice, though they were on the field for more than two sessions on the final day.

Earlier, the hosts were all out for 297 after adding only 45 to their overnight score of 252-6 at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Wednesday.

Shuvagata Hom guided Bangladeshis to the 56-run lead with his unbeaten 75 off 176 deliveries.

Opener Shamsur Rahman struck 69 before he was caught off a Natsai M’shangwe delivery.

The Zimbabweans, who were restricted to 241 in their first innings, were 201 for five at the end of the final day’s play, thanks to Craig Ervine’s unbeaten 85.

Openers Vusi Sibanda (22) and Sikandar Raza (45) handed the tourists a solid start in their second innings.

Dewan Sabbir broke the 68-run stand, bowling out Sibanda.

The pacer later trapped Brian Chari lbw for a duck.

Elton Chigumbura (4) was accompanying Ervine when the umpires called the final day off.

The first of the three-Test series is scheduled to start from Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
