The match was abandoned due to heavy shower that forced a toss for a result, which eventually deprived Bangladesh the chance to defend the title at the Yeonhui Cricket Ground in Incheon on Thursday.

Sri Lanka will face Afghanistan in the final while Bangladesh and Hong Kong will play for the bronze.

Sent in to bat, Mashrafe Mortaza's side were 59 for three in 11 overs when rain disrupted the game. As the ground remained unplayable after the downpour, match referee Venkatapathy Raju decided for a toss to settle the outcome.

Sri Lanka captain Lahiru Thirimanne won the toss, again, to proceed to the final.

Earlier, Bangladesh were reduced to 6 for 3 before Tamim Iqbal (24 not out) and Sabbir Rahman (27 not out) paired up to steady the rocking boat.
