Asiad Cricket: Mashrafe, Tamim in Asia Cup Squad

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-man squad on Friday for the 17th Asian Games starting from Sept 19 in Incheon, South Korea.

Star players like Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Tamim Iqbal have been included in the squad that will try to defend their gold.

The Tigers’ regular skipper Mushfiqur Rahim will be unavailable for the campaign owing to his wedding on Sept 27 while Shakib Al Hasan is serving a six-month due to disciplinary issues.

The squad includes young players like Anamul Haque and Taskin Ahmed as well as Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury and Sabbir Rahman from the 16th Asiad, who had fetched the gold for Bangladesh in the last edition.

Experienced players like Imrul Kayes and Nasir Hossain have also been drafted into the squad.
