Dhaka were 96 for one at stumps of the third day, requiring 128 more runs to win with a day and nine wickets in hand.

Khulna folded for 232 runs despite an unbeaten 119 from Anamul Haque.

Khulna started the penultimate day of the match on 94 for three at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong.

Dhaka struck early in the day when Shuvagata Hom sent back Mithun Ali (8). Nizamuddin Ripon (31) and Ziaur Rahman (16) provided some support to Anamul at the other end but no one else made mentionable contributions to the Khulna score.

Although their last three batsmen went back for ducks, Anamul kept fighting to take his team to 232. His 290-ball innings was laced with 9 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Taiabur Parvez, Hom and Nazmul Apu bagged three wickets each for Dhaka.

Chasing 224 runs for victory, opener Didar Hossain (18) was run out to be Dhaka’s only batsman to walk back.

Other opener Rony Talukdar (45) and Taiabur (32), however, were going strong. They have added 54 runs for the second wicket so far.

Dhaka have already secured the title on day two bagging five bonus points against defending champions Khulna.
