US Embassy Dhaka Chargé D'Affaires Joel Reifman inaugurated the corner on Wednesday at the American Corner Chittagong, located at the Chittagong campus of the Independent University.

The envoy said this will create interest in studying science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. “This will be a place for students to be creative with ideas and experiment those using the tools available.”

This Maker Space will be a space for them to make things that test their ideas, find answers, solve problems, and discover new ways of doing something, the embassy said.

It will provide Mind-storm EV3 lego sets, Makey Makey sets and a Makerbot – a 3D printer, first of its kind in Chittagong.

“American Corner Chittagong will boast to have the first Maker Space in the city,” the embassy said.
