Vice-Chancellor Prof Safiullah told bdnews24.com on Monday that the university has decided his dismissal with effect from May 4.
Another member of the teaching staff told bdnews24.com on condition of anonymity that Ferdous was fired the very same day he was arrested without being served a show cause notice.
Ferdous was arrested on charges of sexual harassment brought forth by students.
Following a volley of protests, the university had said that it had suspended him.
