Mohammad Ali, who works in the hall’s laundry, was handed down the punishment on Monday afternoon, DU Acting Proctor Prof Amzad Ali told bdnews24.com.

Ali harassed the student when she went alone to the laundry on the administration building’s first floor around 9:30pm on Sunday.

Other students caught Ali in the act after hearing the victim’s cry for help. He was handed over to police the same night, the proctor said.

Amzad Ali said a mobile court punished the staffer on Monday. He was later sent to jail.
