Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique announced the results on Monday afternoon at the central admission office.

In the admission test held on Sept 26, 87,203 candidates appeared for the exams under ‘Gha’ unit.

Of them, 18,320 candidates cleared the test. The success rate is 16.55 percent. Of the successful candidates, 1416 will be enrolled now.

The students can also see the results on the university’s website.

Apart from that they can also get to know it by sending an SMS typing DU<>Gha<>Roll to 16321 from any mobile phone.

Earlier, only nine percent students cleared the admission test for ‘Kha’ unit held on Sept 19. In that exam, only two students were found eligible for admission in the English department.

The results had evoked strong reaction from various quarters about the quality of education.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid had questioned the admission test process, saying it was faulty.

He even went to the extent of claiming that the admission test was conducted in a manner in which it could put a question mark on the entire education system.
