Travelers with passport will still be able to cross the border, authorities said.

A holiday has been declared from Jun 25 to Jul 1, Bangla Hili Customs C&F Agent Association Secretary Shahinur Islam Shahin told bdnews24.com.

“As a result the import and export of goods across the Bangladesh-India border at Hili Land Port and all related services will not be possible. Trade will resume again from Sunday, Jul 2.”

The Panama Hili Port, customs authorities and others have been informed of the holiday at the land port by the Bangla Hili Customs C&F Agents Association.

As traders will not be making any transactions at the port for the eight days, a holiday has been declared, Panama Hili Port Link Limited TI Ashit Kumar Sanyal told bdnews24.com.

Immigration services across the Bangladesh-India border will still be available, said Hili Immigration Checkpost Officer-in-Charge Aftab Hossain.

“People can travel to India on Eid day if they want to,” he said.
