The airing of the advertisement, which also featured model Naila Nayem, was stopped following 'objection in the sports arena' recently, PRAN Foods Chief Operating Officer for Oscar, Anisur Rahman, said.

Speaking to bdnews24.com on Monday, he brushed aside media reports that Oscar has scrapped the two-year contract with Sabbir.

"There is no pressure to cancel the contract. It will be extended if need be.

"We are thinking about making a more attractive advertisement of Oscar," he added.

The airing of the TV commercial, which was also uploaded on YouTube, Facebook and other social media in May, was stopped following Sabbir's request, Anisur said.

Many of the netizens criticised the advertisement in which Sabbir was heard saying, "When it’s about Oscar, a little privacy is needed."

A marketing official of a private TV station, requesting anonymity, said they have stopped airing the advertisement following instruction from the related firm.
