Bangladesh chartered secretaries elect Mohammad Sanaullah ICSB president

Mohammad Sanaullah, Corporate Affairs Director and Company Secretary of Singer Bangladesh Limited, has been elected president of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (lCSB).

He was elected for the term 2016-2019 at the institute's Council Meeting on Wednesday, according to an ICSB news release. 

Sanaullah, a founder member of the institute who also served as its president for the term 2010-2013, has over 30 years of 'rich and varied' exposure in business, corporate management and governance, the release said.

He has developed and contributed 'significantly' to various professional development programmes and workshops organised by the institute and various forums both at home and abroad, it said. 

"His contribution to the development of the profession of chartered secretaries in Bangladesh is remarkable," the release, undersigned by the institute's Secretary in Charge Kazi Mafizur Rahman, said.

Sanaullah graduated with Honours and did post-graduation in accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1980 and 1981 respectively. He is also a Life Member of the university's Accounting Alumni.

The council of the institute, at the same meeting also elected Siemens Bangladesh Limited's CFO and Company Secretary Mohammad Bul Hassan as the senior vice president. 

Md Selim Reza, a partner at a practicing Chartered Accountants firm, ARTISAN, was elected vice president and National Finance Limited's Company Secretary Nazmul Karim as treasurer of the institute for the same term.
