Bangladesh Tanners' Association President Shahin Ahmed told bdnews24.coom that they were scheduled to have a meeting with Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday to finalise the price.
He added the prices will be announced at a media briefing on Friday.
Bangladesh processes around 220 million square feet of leather every year, half of which is sourced during this time, when millions of sacrificial animals are slaughtered across the country as part of the Eid ritual.
The price of raw hide was Tk 50 to 55 per square feet last year in Dhaka, and Tk 45 to 50 outside the capital.
The proposal for this year is Tk 45 in Dhaka and Tk 35 elsewhere, a trader, preferring anonymity, told bdnews24.com.
On Monday, a week before the Eid-ul-Azha, Commerce Minister Tofail told at media briefing that he has told traders to fix the price within 48 hours, so that both sellers and buyers make profits.
