Voting begins to elect new BASIS executives 

The voting to elect new executives of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) for the next three years has begun at its headquarters in Dhaka.

Polling started at 10am and would continue until 5pm, said spokesperson of the trade body, Badruddoza Mahmud Tuhin, on Saturday.
 He told bdnews24.com that 516 voters would elect nine executives for 2016-2019. There are 22 candidates for nine posts.
The association began its journey in 1997 with 17 members. Today, according to its website, the membership stands at 898 as the software industry continues to grow in Bangladesh.
