Booming business marked Friday, the weekly holiday, at DNCC Market in Gulshan, New Market, Bashundhara City, Aziz Super Market, Bangabazar and other malls in the capital.
The citizens came with friends and families to pick up Eid dresses, putting smile on the traders’ faces.
He said the prices were higher than before, but did not appear to be too upset.
“They (traders) usually charge more during the Eid season. And Tk 100-200 is not that much high,” he said.
He said his outlet was charging Tk 1,200-Tk 6,000 for salwar-kamiz and Tk 1,000-5,000 for Fatua and panjabi.
Salesman ‘Sohan’ at Rupom Fashion in Gulshan’s DNCC Market that sells children’s wear said the shop had been overcrowded since morning.
The Hawkers’ Market at Farmgate is selling dresses for girls with names like ‘Patal Kumar’, ‘Milon Tithi’, ‘Fancy’ priced from Tk 300 to Tk 1,200.
