PM Hasina asks investors in Bulgaria to tap investment potentials in Bangladesh

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited Bulgarian investors to make the most of several vital areas as she invited the country’s business community to invest in Bangladesh.

She made this proposal during a meeting with a 15-member delegation of Bulgaria Chamber of Commerce and Industries that had called on her at a hotel in the Bulgarian capital, Sophia.

Her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that the prime minister told the visiting delegation that they could invest in various sectors including the power sector in the country.

She also apprised them about various government initiatives in the interest of foreign investors. In addition, she spoke about upcoming investor-friendly projects like setting up of SEZs and IT parks.

Hasina also said that Bangladesh offers excellent potential in the food processing sector.

With maritime issues resolved with India and Myanmar, the prime minister pointed out that Bulgarian investors could exploit the vast resource-procurement potential in the region through this development.

Speaking of the improvement of Bangladesh’s relationship with its neighbours, Hasina told the delegation that it would open up new and wider markets for the investors.

She also praised the participation of women in all walks of Bulgarian life.

The prime minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali during the meeting.
