Gold, silver prices down in Bangladesh

Gold prices are down by Tk 1,540 per bhori (11.664 grams) in Bangladesh.

Silver will also be cheaper in the country by Tk 58 per bhori.

The revised price for gold and silver will be effective from Thursday (July 23), said Khaled Akand, secretary of Bangladesh Jewellers Samity, that represents jewellery business in the country.

“We’ve revised the gold and silver price in the domestic market after they dropped sharply across the world,” he told bdnews24.com. 

According to the revised price-list, a gram of 22-carat gold will cost Tk 3,685 and a bhori of it will cost Tk 42,981.

A bhori of 21-carat gold will now cost Tk 40,882 and that of a bhori of 18-carat gold Tk 34,233.

The revised price for each gram, calculated on traditional method, of gold is Tk 1,960 and that of each bhori Tk 22,231.

Silver price has been cut by Tk 5 per gram. Now, each bhori of 21 or 22-carat silver will cost Tk 991.
