British American Tobacco Bangladesh’s profit declines by 3.8% in six months year-on-year

Profit of British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited has declined by 3.8 percent in the first six months of the current year from the figure of the previous corresponding period.

According to the company’s unaudited half-yearly financial report, it earned an after-tax profit of Tk 2.76 billion in the January-June period against Tk 2.87 billion a year earlier.
 
The report was published on the Dhaka Stock Exchange website on Tuesday.
 
The multinational company’s earnings per share (EPS) were Tk 46.05 in the first six months of this year against Tk 47.87 in the same previous period.
 
The profit of the company declined by 40.33 percent in the April-June period from the figure a year earlier.
 
For the April-June period, the profit was Tk 972.77 million and EPS Tk 16.21. 
 
The figures were Tk 1.63 billion and Tk 27.17 a year earlier.
