The shohoz.com has been providing online ticketing service throughout the year for about a year now for routes across Bangladesh.

The company says that passengers can now purchase bus tickets online without any trouble by paying just Tk 21 extra. Just a printout of the online booking will do.

The process, too, is simple, it says.

The passengers are given step-by-step direction on their website or if they dial 16374.

“For just another Tk 50, we also deliver the physical tickets to the buyers,” said Shakil Jawad Rahim, the company’s head of marketing. “It reaches the buyer’s address within 48 hours of making the purchase.”

But he cautions about the Eid-time rush. “The pressure is higher during Eid. We might take 72 hours to deliver.”

Rahim told bdnews24.com that clients could avail of their service through any of the three payment methods – credit or debit card, mobile money transfer service and cash on delivery.

“Tickets can be purchased by phoning call centres. In this case, payment is made through the credit or debit card,” he said.

He said the company had 50 partners to trade bus tickets and that the companies had their timetable about availability of tickets.

“The transport companies have their own rules during Eid. We will be able to provide the tickets right from the day they make them available.”

The customers’ experience so far has been quite positive.

“Booking bus tickets was a pain,” says Nusrat Deepa from Dhaka, “I used to spend almost half the ticket price as CNG fare while going to the counters to get my ticket.”
