Stocks fall after 6-month high

A day after a turnover of Tk 7.9 billion, highest in nearly six months, Dhaka stocks have fallen sharply with Tk 6.81 billion traded in shares.

On Tuesday, the Dhaka Stock Exchange ended on 4,526 points, dropping 39 points from the last day.

On Feb 3 this year, the prime bourse recorded a turnover of Tk 8.04 billion.

Of the traded scrips, 149 lost, 114 gained, and 30 remained unchanged.

Indices at the Chittagong Stock Exchange also fell on Tuesday, and the turnover declined from the previous day.

The benchmark CSCX index fell 63 points to end at 8,567 points. Turnover amounted to Tk 470 million, which is less by Tk 70 million than the previous day’s transactions.
DSE's index for top companies, DS30, fell 13 points to rest at 1,688 points.
Over the last week, DSEX rose by 59 points and average turnover was Tk 5.44 billion.
