Bangladesh Bank Assistant Spokesperson and General Manager AFM Asaduzzaman told bdnews24.com that the committee was formed, in accordance with Bank Company Act, on Sunday.

Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Nazneen Sultana

Deputy Governor Nazneen Sultana is heading the four-member committee. The other members are its Executive Directors Ahsanullah and Ahmed Jamal and Banking Regulation and Policy Department (BRPD) General Manager Nasiruzzaman.
Asaduzzaman said the committee would advise the governor on the necessary measures after scrutiny of the complaints lodged with the bank’s BRPD and Financial Integrity and Customer Service Department and the irregularities found by BB’s investigation and inspection teams.
The committee has been formed amid reports of massive irregularities by several banks including state-owned Sonali and BASIC.
