Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Traffic Department stopped her car on the wrong lane from Ruposhi Bangla Hotel towards Banglamotor intersection on Monday evening.

A police officer with the rank of a superintendent was also caught driving on the wrong lane there at the time.

DMP Traffic Department Additional Commissioner Md Moslehuddin Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner Rifat Rahman Shamim headed the drive. Joint Commissioner Mafiz Uddin Ahmed joined them later.

On Sunday, State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed and several secretary-level officials, including Mafruha, were among 50 people fined during a similar drive at Hare Road.

On Monday, the traffic police personnel stopped Mafruha's car in front of Padma Islami Life Insurance building around 5:45pm.

In addition to the wrong-lane driving, driver Babul Mia was found to have had no driving licence on him.

The police officers did not also find required documents in the car.

Mafruha was in the car but she declined comment.

The traffic police officers said they took legal action against driver Babul on Sunday as well.

Asked why he took the wrong lane a day after being caught for the same offence, he remained silent.

After the drive ended in the evening, AC Moslehuddin said they had stopped two cars and seven motorcycles since 4:30pm.

The owners of the cars were fined while a motorcycle was sent for dumping, he said.

On Sunday, the DMP's Traffic Department fined owners of 300 cars in the clampdown on the wrong-side driving.

"Our drives will continue. We will mark the places where the drivers take the wrong lanes," he said.
