The first consignment will arrive on Thursday, according to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla will hand over the consignment to Road and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader at Chittagong airport.

About 400,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled to Bangladesh since Aug 25.

India had earlier expressed its concern and said the situation in Rakhine State must “be handled with restraint and maturity, focusing on the welfare of the civilian population alongside those of the security forces”.
