Sohel Rana stands accused in multiple cases after the collapse of the tower left more than 1,100 factory workers dead in 2013.
Judge KM Imrul Kayes of Dhaka's Special Judges Court-6 sentenced him to three years in prison for not disclosing his assets.
Rana, blamed for the overwhelming casualties in one of thw world's worst industrial tragedies, appeared without remorse, said Lawyers present in the courtroom.
"I surely don’t have to learn that from you?" the judge replied.
Rana also stands accused in cases over manslaughter, drug abuse, possession of illegal weapons, building code violation and for flouting the eight-storey building's original design.
