Pierre Mayaudon made a farewell call on the foreign secretary on Wednesday at the state guest house Padma, the foreign ministry said.
The 28-nation bloc is the key export destination for Bangladesh where all products enjoy duty-free market access.
The foreign secretary stressed on continued efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
The EU ambassador thanked the foreign secretary for the support and cooperation he received during his tenure in Bangladesh.
He reiterated the EU’s “steadfast” commitment to remain engaged with Bangladesh on such important issues as migration, trade and investment, science and technology to deepen and widen the relations.
He will leave Dhaka shortly completing his three- year stint in Bangladesh.
