The students, who have been protesting since Sunday against alleged assault of a teacher, suspended their movement on Thursday following assurance from the university proctor.
Seven students started a hunger strike on Thursday morning demanding punishment to the security guards who attacked them during protests.
This fresh spell of protest added to an ongoing agitation against the university registrar and two other officials who allegedly assaulted a law department teacher.
Proctor of BRAC University Samia Hoque arrived at the scene on Thursday evening to quell the students.
"We are really upset at this incident. The university administration will surely take steps if something wrong happens to you. But first you'll have to give written complaint. There are some formal procedures," she said.
After hearing her comments, Sheikh Noman Parvez, a law department student among the seven who started the hunger strike, announced the postponement of the protests.
He said they would take part in the exams scheduled to start on Sunday.
