Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said that they will implement it “in phases”.
“We are considering handing over the responsibility of recruiting (public prosecutors) to the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission,” he said after addressing the annual deputy commissioners’ conference at the secretariat.
He said that the government was considering increasing salary and allowances for general prosecutors, assistant public prosecutors and assistant general prosecutors.
Huq said that he has raised the issue with the district administration chiefs.
“The issue of mobile courts run by executive magistrates also came up. I said it’s pending with the Appellate Division and is a sub-judice matter, so any discussion is not possible,” he told reporters.
