But he is still in the dark about who had whisked him away from his Dhaka home in May and the places where he was kept all these days, family members and friends have said.

One of his classmates, Shuvo, told bdnews24.com that Milon’s ‘abductors’ had left him beside a road in an area in Bandarban around 8am on Sunday.

“Milon called one of our friends around 10am and asked to send him Tk 2,000 via bKash. After the money was sent, Milon arrived at his sister’s home in Gazipur around 8pm.”

He is currently staying there, Shuvo said. “He didn’t answer when I asked where he was all these days and what happened.”

Milon’s mother told bdnews24.com, “My son is not saying anything. He is having trouble remembering everything.”

She said he was blindfolded when he was abandoned beside the road in Bandarban.

Several people, identifying themselves as law-enforcement personnel, had picked up Milon for his home at Adabar at dawn on May 23.

After police and RAB denied having him in custody, the family had lodged a general diary with Adabar police.

Jagannath University or JnU students have been demonstrating demanding information about his whereabouts since the physics student went missing.

JnU authorities had also urged the government to step in to find Milon.

However, though he has returned now, no one was able to shed any light on who took him away and why.

JnU Proctor Nur Mohammad on Monday told bdnews24.com that "he has heard of Milon’s return from his classmates."

After Milon had gone missing, the Proctor and physics department’s Prof Nure Alam Abdullah spoke with police and later told students that he was ‘in Detective Branch’s custody’.

But Milon’s parents could not find him when they went to the DB office. Then Abdullah had said, “The previous information was wrong. Police are not admitting that they have Milon in their custody.”

Later, JnU students demonstrated and held protest rallies demanding Milon’s safe return. They also alleged that the university administration was not active in rescuing the student.

Police, however, said that they did not know anything about Milon’s return on Sunday.

Adabar police Sub-Inspector Zaman said the student’s family had not yet informed them about the matter.
