Govt appoints 1,466 from 35th BCS to non-cadre jobs

The government has appointed 1,466 candidates who did not get any cadre after clearing the 35th BCS examinations to class-II non-cadre posts.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission recommended the appointments at a meeting on Thursday, the commission said in a media release.

The education cadre has 546 as assistant teachers.

The PSC has recommended appointing 545 assistant tax officers, 80 tax inspectors and 466 others to the National Board of Revenue posts under total 29 categories.

The PSC had recommended appointment of 2,158 class-I cadre posts from among the 5,517 successful candidates of the 35th Bangladesh Civil Service.

It called applications from the other successful candidates for appointments to class-I and II non-cadre posts. As many as 2,600 applied for the posts.

Including those 1,466 appointed on Thursday, the government has appointed 2,163 from the 35th BCS to non-cadre posts.

It had started appointing successful BCS candidates to non-cadre posts since the 28th BCS examinations.
