Rail services from Dhaka to north resume after more than seven hours of shutdown

Train services from Dhaka to the northern and southern regions have resumed after more than seven hours of disruption caused by a derailment in Pabna.

The services restarted at 9pm on Saturday, Sirajganj railway police OC Sayeed Iqbal told bdnews24.com.

A rescue train from Pakshi had come and moved the derailed engine, power car and a carriage of Dhaka-bound Teesta Express from the tracks.

The train went off the tracks at Muladuli Railway Station at Ishwardi around 1:15am, said Stationmaster Md Moniruzzaman.
