"The director general has posted us in the capital and neighbouring districts based on a demand from the home ministry. We'll work to maintain law and order," ASF Commander Syed Iftehar Ali told bdnews24.com on Sunday.
The special force's 330 members have been posted in parts of the capital. They are providing security to the passengers at Kamalapur Railway Station and Gabtoli, Syedabad and Mohakhali bus stations.
They are also posted in the city's diplomatic zones and upscale areas, including Gulshan.
The ASF will patrol their designated areas and work to prevent any kind of violent activities.
