Amusement centres in the capital ready for Eid visitors

The amusement centres across the capital Dhaka which become one of the main attractions for the families with kids are expecting big crowds during Eid holidays.

The authorities of the parks and centres have spruced up their facilities as well as added some new rides and gaming elements to attract the visitors.

They have also taken precautionary measures to ensure the security of the visitors.

In the capital, Shishu Park in Shahbagh which is very popular among the kids, has been decorated with new colours and lights, says Dhaka South City Corporation Assistant Engineer Mohammad Nuruzzaman, who is in charge of the park.

"We've tested all rides and solved all technical issues. They have been coloured and illuminated," he told bdnews24.com on Saturday.

"CCTV cameras have been installed at every corner. Our own security force will be deployed," he added.

The Shishu Park has 11 rides and will remain open from 10am to 11pm. Ticket price is Tk 15 while additional Tk 10 will be charged for every ride. Less privileged children will be able to enter and take the rides free on Wednesday. 

Depending on the sighting of the moon, the Eid will fall on Monday or Tuesday.

Dhaka Zoo in Mirpur also gets overcrowded on the Eid day. Its Curator MM Nazrul Islam expects the number of visitors will reach 150,000.

The door of the zoo will open for the visitors at 8am on the Eid day. Tickets will cost Tk 30 each.

Besides police, RAB personnel will also be deployed to ensure security.

The number of animals of different species in the zoo is now 2,680. They include 20 recently born cubs of giraffe and hippopotamus. 

The National Museum will be closed on the Eid day. It will be open from 3pm to 8pm on the following day.

DNCC Wonderland, previously known as Shishu Mela, in Shyamoli, has 40 rides, including 15 family ones. It will be open from 10am to 9pm with tickets for Tk 50 per head.

Blockbuster Cinemas, Carnival, Future World and other rides at Jamuna Future Park will be open from 11am to 11pm.

People are also expected to throng theme parks the Fantasy Kingdom and Nandan Park, located outside the capital.

Fantasy Kingdom authorities said it would be open along with the Water Kingdom from 10am to 9pm. Tickets will price Tk 400 each adult and Tk 350 for the child. Rides and swimming in the Water Kingdom will also be available with Tk 800 tickets.

The price of Nandan Park entry ticket is Tk 295. Additional Tk 400 will have to be paid for all the rides. It will also organise music and dance shows.

In this Eid, three movies will be released in Dhaka. Jaaz Multimedia is the co-producer of both the movies 'Boss 2' and 'Nabab', cross-border collaborative productions of India and Bangladesh.

The other one is 'Rajniti' starring Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas.
