PM Hasina hosts Iftar party for poets, artists at Ganabhaban

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has hosted an Iftar party at the Ganabhaban for eminent poets, writers and artists of the country.

Hasina's relatives and some other distinguished citizens also joined the function on Wednesday.

Artist Hashem Khan, drama personalities Hasan Imam and Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu, poet Ruby Rahman, film actors Razzak and Riaz, actress Shomi Kaiser, singers Kumar Bishwajit and Samina Chowdhury, among others, attended the programme along with Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor.

Professors Anisuzzaman, Rafiqul Islam, and Harun-or-Rashid, Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam were also present.

Among the relatives of the prime minister, Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, Local Government Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Sheikh Helal Uddin, MP, Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, MP, and former FBCCI president Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed were present.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader, MPs Habibe Millat and Quazi Rosy also attended the Iftar party held at the Ganabhaban premises.

The prime minister exchanged greetings with the guests before the Iftar.

Special prayers were offered for the departed souls of landslide victims in the southeastern districts and Bangladesh's peace and prosperity.
