The aircraft carrying her landed at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport around 9:15am on Saturday.

On Friday, the prime minister flew from Stockholm to London on a British Airways flight. Bangladesh Ambassador to Sweden Golam Sarowar saw her off at the Arlanda Airport.

After a three-hour stopover at the Heathrow Airport, she boarded a Biman Bangladesh flight for Dhaka.

Hasina visited the Scandinavian country at the invitation of its prime minister, Stefan Löfven. It was the first ever official visit of a Bangladeshi head of government to the country.

During the visit, Hasina called on the Swedish King Karl XVI Gustaf and held a one-on-one meeting as well as bilateral talks with her Swedish counterpart.

According to a joint statement issued on Thursday after the talks between Hasina and Löfven, the two prime ministers agreed that economic cooperation and trade and investment constitute a “key element” for strengthening bilateral relations.

They noted the ever-growing relations of 45 years and that the visit set “a new trajectory” for the 21st century.

Hasina also attended a reception hosted by expatriate Bangladeshis in Stockholm and a business dialogue with the Bangladeshi and Swedish business leaders.

Sweden was one of the first countries in Europe that supported Bangladesh in the 1971 war against Pakistan. Feb 4, 2017 marked the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
