Chapai Nawabganj raid to resume in the morning, firing heard

After a night’s rest,  preparations to resume the raid on the suspected militant hideout in Chapai Nawabganj have started.

The SWAT team, which started the raid on Wednesday evening and called a halt two hours later, is calling it ‘Operation Eagle Point’.

Firing was heard twice in the vicinity around 7 am on Thursday morning.

“We are preparing,” Shibganj Police Station OC Habibul Islam told bdnews24.com. “The raid will begin in a few hours.”

“Ambulances and the fire service are being deployed. Some SWAT personnel are on the spot. Another team is on its way and will arrive shortly.”
