Outgoing Brazil smbassador meets foreign minister

Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh Wanja Campos Da Nóbrega has made a farewell call on Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.

During the meeting on Wednesday, the foreign ministry said, Ali “deeply appreciated” the continued efforts and contributions of Ambassador Wanja in advancing the bilateral relations.

He said her four-year tenure in Dhaka has seen the ties  grow both in “depth and dimensions”.

He remembered the first ever bilateral consultations between the two countries which was held last month in Dhaka.

Ali commended her role as the first female Dean of Diplomatic Core in Bangladesh and admired her high esteem for the culture and tradition of Bangladesh.

Ambassador Wanja observed that tremendous growth and progress have taken place in Bangladesh during her tenure here, especially in the socio-economic sectors under the present leadership. 

She hoped the bilateral relations will reach “a newer height”.

She hoped both Brazil and Bangladesh always work side by side and support each other’s position at the United Nations and other international fora on global issues of mutual interest.

She praised the rich Bengali culture and sought enhanced people-to-people contact through cultural exchanges between the two countries.
