The government has appointed Ashraf Siddiquee Bitu assistant press secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The public administration ministry circulated the appointment on a one-year contract on Monday.
Bitu is currently working as a director at the ruling Awami League's research wing, the Center for Research and Information (CRI).
The government notice says he will have to sever professional relations with all other organisations before joining the press wing at the Prime Minister's Office.
