Govt promotes 267 public servants to deputy secretaries
The government has promoted 267 senior assistant secretaries to deputy secretaries, according to a notice issued by the public administration ministry on Sunday.

It's yet to be clear how the government will accommodate the newly promoted officers against the 850 designated posts for deputy secretaries.
In November last year, 536 public servants were promoted. Of them, 205 were made deputy secretaries. The number of deputy secretaries then stood at 1,479.
A public administration ministry official told bdnews24.com that most of the officers, who have promoted on Sunday, belong to the 22nd batch of Bangladesh Civil Service.
