Fire burns four including two children in Dhaka

A fire broke out at the capital's Rampura on Saturday morning, leaving four including two children burnt.

The victims have been identified as 8-year-old 'Adiyat', 5-year-old 'Omahabir', Abdus Sattar, 50 and Md Hossain, 35.

The four have been taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Among them, Sattar and Hossain are critical with 40 and 32 percent burn injuries respectively, said DMCH police outpost's Sub-Inspector Md Bacchu Mia.

The children were out of danger, he added.

Rampura police said the fire erupted as two electric wires got entwined at Notunbag while it was raining.

"The four were burnt from flaming flakes splashing around," said Rampur police Sub-Inspector Shayekh Ahmed.
