Hafiz Ur Rahman Khan, the husband of his younger sister, told bdnews24.com from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport that a Qatar Airways flight carrying the body and his family members reached around midnight on Sunday.

Quayes, a former foreign secretary, passed away on Mar 10 after battling with multiple organ failures for a month in a hospital in Brasilia.

Khan said his first Namaz-e-Janaza would be held at the foreign ministry in the morning and then the body would be kept at Central Shaheed Minar from 10am to 12pm for public to pay respect.

He will be laid to rest in Banani graveyard on Tuesday after more funeral prayers both in Dhaka and his village home at Pakundia in Kishoreganj district.
