“All the exams of MA, MSS, MBA, MSc and M Music including ICT (regular and private) of 2013-2014 session scheduled to be held on April 3 have been postponed for an unavoidable reason,” a notice signed by the acting director of the controller’s department said.

It also said that “the new date of the exams will be announced soon.”

However, Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof Harun-Or-Rashid said that due to the absence of the Acting Controller, who is now in jail, exams had to be postponed.

“Our controller is in jail. He is the main man behind the exam system. It is difficult for us to conduct exams unless he is released on bail,” he added.

“Postponement is a temporary measure. New dates of the exams will be announced soon,” he said.

NU Acting Controller Badruzzaman was arrested in a case of financial embezzlement filed by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq with Joydevpur Police Station in 2012.

The then vice-chancellor Kazi Shahidullah is among the 13 accused in the case.

Badruzzaman is in jail since he was arrested on Mar 14 this year.
