Noor Alam, a resident of Akyab’s Mongdu, was caught during a raid on the areas surrounding the Kutupalang camp on Tuesday.

Described as a mastermind, he was being taken on operations to recover the weapons looted during the attack, said RAB-7 Commander Ashekur Rahman.

Miscreants mounted an attack on the Ansar barracks at a Rohingya refugee camp in Hnilar Muchni area on May 13 last year.

Commander Ali Hossain, 55, was shot dead by miscreants during the attack, after which they stole arms and ammunition used by Ansar and fled.

On Jan 9, RAB arrested another 'mastermind' of the attack, Abul Kalam, and two others at Kutupalong. Nine arms and 115 rounds of ammunition looted in the attack were also seized.

Ashekur said a total of 12 people have so far been arrested in the case.
