Mother, 7-month-old infant killed in Tangail road crash

A woman and her 7-month-old child died in Tangail when a truck hit the three-wheeler vehicle they travelling in.

The incident on Saturday on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge Highway near the district town's Ashekpur has left two others injured, said police.
 
The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Shathi Aktar and her son 'Shafayat', said highway police's Sub-Inspector Md Shah Alam said a truck rammed the battery-run vehicle from behind.
 
"Shathi Akter and her child died on the spot," he said.
 
The two other passengers are being treated at the Tangail General Hospital and one of them is critical, said Sub Inspector Alam.
 
Police have seized the truck and arrested the driver.
