Murder accused killed in police 'shootout' in Khulna
One person has been killed in a purported police shootout in Khulna.

Zia Sana alias 'Hat Kata Zia' alias 'Bomaru Zia' was shot during the wee hours of Friday at Koiyabazar South neighbourhood as, according to police, he was planning a robbery.
"Sana was plotting a robbery with 10-15 men in the area. They opened fire as police reached the spot. A shootout continued for around 15 minutes leaving Zia wounded," said Horintana police OC MM Mizanur Rahman.
Zia was declared dead at 4 am at Khulna Medical College Hospital, he said.
His accomplices managed to flee during the shootout.
The 45-year-old was the second-in-command of 'New Biplobi Communist Party' and implicated in nine cases of murder and drug peddling, said the OC.
Police recovered two firearms, locally-made weapons and 50 methamphetamine-based Yaba tablets from the spot.
