Sirajganj bus-truck collision kills four, at least 25 others injured

A head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Sirajganj has left four people dead, including the driver.

The accident, which left at least 25 others injured, has been reported from the highway near the Bangabandhu Bridge at Kamarkhand Upazila.

Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station's Sub-Inspector Mizanur Rahman said the road crash occurred around 3:30pm in Konabarhi area.

A Pabna-bound bus and a goods-laden truck headed to Bogra collided head-on leaving four, including the drivers, dead on the spot, he said.

One of them Liton Chatterjee, 35, was on the bus. The rest are yet to be identified.

Among the injured, 23 have been admitted to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital.

Traffic was disrupted temporarily but returned to normal soon after police started a rescue operation, said the police officer.
