French lobster, Hilsha, Kachchi Biriyani for Mahmoud Abbas at Bangabhaban

The Bangabhaban’s menu for hosting Mahmoud Abbas had French-style lobster as well as Kachchi Biriyani.

A banquet for the Palestine president was held at the official residence of his Bangladeshi counterpart on Thursday.

President Md Abdul Hamid greeted Abbas when he arrived at the Bangabhaban at 7pm. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also attended the dinner.

The main dishes had Lobster Thermidor, Mutton Kachchi Biriyani and Chicken Rashmi Kebab served with Alu Bokhara chutney.

Hilsha, Bangladesh’s national fish, also found place as appetizer. 

Patishapta, a crepe-like Bengali dessert, was served besides cheese cake and fruit cocktail.

The dinner at Credential Hall was cooked and served by the staff of Hotel Sonargaon.

Parliament Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Justice SK Sinha, Prime Minister’s Special Envoy HM Ershad, Leader of the Opposition Raushon Ershad were present among the guests.

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, LGRD Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain, Bridges and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader and prime minister’s advisers Gowher Rizvi and HT Imam also attended the banquet.
