PM Hasina back in Dhaka after attending WEF in Davos

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned after attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Swiss resort town of Davos.

The Emirates airlines flight carrying her landed at Dhaka's Shahjalal International Airport around 11am on Saturday.
 
Several Cabinet members and high government officials received her at the airport.
 
Hasina is the first elected Bangladeshi head of government to attend the WEF. 
 
In 2008, the military-installed caretaker government's chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed represented Bangladesh at the summit. 
 
At the WEF, Hasin highlighted Bangladesh's stance on a wide range of issues, including water management, regional cooperation and workplace environment
 
The prime minister also took questions that followed these discussions.

Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque said they believe "Bangladesh has scaled a different level through Davos participation".
He says it has secured a niche for Bangladesh on the 'global investment radar.'
The PMO SDG Affairs Chief Coordinator Abul Kalam Azad observed that the WEF provided Hasina a platform to both share the problems as well as share her suggestions with world leaders on 'how to make the world more livable'.
She also met WEF founder and CEO Karl Schwab on Jan 17 on the sidelines of the four-day meet.
