Rana is now behind bars after surrendering in a murder case.

The Tangail-3 MP is the prime suspect in the 2013 murder of Freedom Fighter Faruk Ahmed, who was also a member of the party's Tangail district unit committee.

The bench of Justice Sheikh Abdul Awal and Justice Md Khasruzzaman issued the rule on Wednesday, but told Rana's counsel to hold a hearing on it at different bench, said a State counsel.

"The hearing ended on Monday but the court kept its order pending. The court issued a rule as the MP Rana's lawyers sought it," said Assistant Attorney General Aminur Rahman Chowdhury, who was with Attorney General Mahbubey Alam on Wednesday.

Authorities have been told to come up with explanations within four weeks, he said adding that the court told Rana's counsel to hold the hearing on the rule at a different bench.
