Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Shunsuke Takei is in Dhaka on a “short visit”, the foreign ministry says.

He called on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam on Monday evening at the VIP Lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Alam was departing for the 15th Asian Cooperation Dialogue ministerial meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The Vice Minister will be leaving Bangladesh Tuesday morning, the foreign ministry said, without giving further details about the nature of the short stay.
During the meeting with state minister Alam, the foreign ministry said, the two sides discussed issues of bilateral interest - particularly about trade, development and investment.
They reiterated their “resolve to work together for the peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world in general”.
