The raid was conducted early on Tuesday morning, said RAB-7 Cox’s Bazar Camp Company commander Lt Cmdr Md Ashekur Rahman.

On Monday night RAB had arrested two Rohingyas -- Khairul Amin (Borho) and Master Abdul Kalam Azad -- from Ukhia’s Kutupalang area and recovered a pistol and another firearm from them.

“RAB conducted a raid on Gohin Mountain in Bandarban’s Naikhongchari after interrogating the arrested Rohingya militant suspects,” said RAB official Ashekur.

“The raid recovered an MMG, six magazines, a Chinese rifle and an M2 Chinese rifle.”

Assailants mounted an attack on the Ansar barracks at a Rohingya refugee camp in Hnilar Muchni area on May 13 last year.

Commander Ali Hossain, 55, was shot dead in the attack. The assailants then decamped with arms and ammunition.

The next day, commander in charge of the camp Md Alamgir Hossain lodged a complaint against 30 to 35 unidentified attackers, accusing them of murder and looting.
