PMO secretary, land secretary, Tariff Commission chairman promoted to senior secretary

The government has promoted three secretaries to senior secretaries.

They are Prime Minister’s Office Secretary Suraiya Begum, Land Secretary Mesbah Ul Alam, and Bangladesh Tariff Commission Chairman Mushfeka Ikfat.

With this three promotions, the number of senior secretaries now stands at 10.

The public administration ministry in an order on Monday promoted and posted them to their current offices.

The senior secretaries are ranked just below the Cabinet secretary and prime minister’s principal secretary.

The current national pay scale has a special grade for the Cabinet secretary, prime minister’s principal secretary, and senior secretaries.

The government created the post of senior secretary on Jan 9, 2012 for public administration officials.
